Traviss Award

At our Christmas Party in 2009, we started a very special tradition. M.A.I.L. is proud to establish the Traviss Swinton Annual Leadership Award.

This award has been created to honor the memory of our beloved teacher Traviss Swinton that we lost too soon.

Traviss was a giving, loving soul who gave so much to our organization. His dedication, commitment and maturity were remarkable for someone of his young age. He is our hero and we all miss him very much.

The Traviss Swinton Leadership Award recognizes an individual in our membership that exemplifies leadership qualities within our programs. Our teaching staff has nominated individuals from their class whom they feel are outstanding in the areas of participation, willingness to help others and co-operation. The Swinton family reviewed the nominees and chose one individual who embodied these qualities, as Traviss did.
